In November I got to photograph my friend and her husband.  They were looking for Christmas card photos and some family photos.  Despite the frigid temperatures and frost slick grass, we got some good ones!

She is so much fun to be around and her cat and dog were wild and fun to photograph as well!  I can’t wait to do another shoot for her!

It was extremely cold and blustery, but the kids had a blast.  I got the opportunity to photograph my friend and her two children.  We had a blast running through NNU campus and playing!!

Fridays are always fun with I Heart Faces!!  This photo was so fun to edit and mess around with.  Below are my edits and how I got them to look that way.

This is the original.  You can see that it is slightly underexposed and a little on the cool side.

This is my first edit.  I used PSE7 to lighten the midtones and increase contrast.  I adjusted the saturation up a bit to warm up the photo overall.  Then I converted to BW and added a vignette.  What a cute little baby!!

I took the light/saturation enhanced photo and ran CoffeeShop’s Creamy Black and White action over the photo.  I decreased the “creaminess” slightly and got this photo.  I don’t think I have come across one photo I didn’t like with this action run on it!!

Then I decided to have a little fun.  I downloaded some textures from Shadowhouse Creations.  They are the “Translucent Stones” texture pack on his site.  He is an amazing artist!!!  I added two of Jerry’s textures in overlay blending mode to my photo, then added a layer mask and masked out the child’s face to where the texture wasn’t as strong.  Then I added Kaleidocope’s “Sun Flare” to the top right of the photo.  You need to check out Patti’s site (the creator of the Kaleidoscope collection).   She has some amazing textures/overlay’s on there that you HAVE to get for Christmas!!

I wanted to let those of you interested in Christmas Cards that you can send via email AND mail know that now is the time to start sending them out!  Get your lists ready and give me a call/email.  I would be happy to help you design one to your taste!

Now I get to enjoy everyone else’s edits!!  I love looking at them every week.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph a good friend of mine and her beautiful family.  Even though it was extremely cold and windy out, we had a good time and we got some great fall/winter photos.

They were a wonderful family to work with and I wish them the best.  Next up:  Paisley – One Month Old.

I am exhausted today…a group of friends and I decided to be teenagers for a night and go see New Moon at midnight…I could fall asleep typing this…

I found today’s photo a little challenging.  I tried so many different things.  I have two edits.  One basic color and light enhancement with a crop and border, the other converted using CoffeeShop’s “Creamy B&W” action.  I didn’t have much patience this morning, and it shows.  Wish me luck…I will need it to survive the whole day at work…

I hope your Friday is going well!  I can’t wait to check out the other edits!!  While you are here, check out my first batch of Christmas Cards.  I had a ton of fun making them.  Let me know if you would like to use a template for your business/personal use!

New Cards…

I made a few more card designs, but I am not sure that they are “Professional” enough for Christmas cards.  I need some input.  Let me know what you think and if you would like the PSE file to use for your business/personal needs.

I hope you like them…I really enjoy making them, but I don’t have fancy embellishments or anything.  I tried making a few things, but thought they looked bad.  I am open to criticism and ideas!!!
